DWI / DUI

Aggressive Dover DWI/DUI Lawyer Helping Men and Women Throughout Delaware

Representing Clients Statewide in Both the
State and Federal Courts of Delaware

Many people who have arrested for DWI/DUI are scared that they will lose their license and their freedom. They should be scared: The consequences of a DWI/DUI conviction can follow you for the rest of your life. Before making any decisions in your case, make sure you understand all the potential outcomes you face and the options available to you. Make sure you build the best possible defense you can.

I am Jack Willard, criminal defense attorney, and since 1985 I have been protecting people just like you throughout the DWI/DUI process.

I know you're fearful about what could happen to you, but I'd like you to know that there are at least 20 different challenges that can be made to the charges you are facing. I raise all that apply to make your case as strong as possible.

First, you must request a Motor Vehicle hearing within a very short period of time (often as few as 15 days), or your driving privilege will remain suspended.

Your case may look open and shut, but the Prosecutor must show that numerous procedures were correctly followed during your arrest, or his/her case is weakened. Remember, under the law you are innocent until proven guilty.

So in many cases, the best choice is to fight. That's the kind of case I focus on.

Plus, I promise you'll get

  • A free initial phone consultation
  • Reasonable fees, and you'll know in advance how you'll be charged
  • Personalized attention. I'll return your phone calls promptly and keep you informed.
  • Experience. Since 1975 I've helped people just like you. Plus, I'm a former Chief Deputy Attorney General for Kent County. So I know all the tactics that the Prosecution will use against you... and how to overcome them.
  • Aggressiveness. While I welcome peaceful settlements, I will fight for your rights to protect you.

Most important, you'll be sure that the judicial system treats you fairly. So, if you want an attorney you can talk to, who is interested in you and your case, and who fights to get you results, then call me today at the best number below for your free consultation.

Your driving privileges and freedom are critical to your life and well-being. A DWI/DUI arrest or conviction can put them in jeopardy. It is up to you to take the right steps to protect your rights. With over three decades of experience in criminal law, I am dedicated to ensuring that the criminal justice system treats individuals fairly.

Your Criminal Case Will Be Very Personal to Me
Despite the State's Evidence Against You, Within the Law, I'll Fight Your Case Your Way

Taking a real and personal interest in your drunk driving case, I will fight to get you the best results possible. If you have been charged with a DWI/DUI, I will fight hard to have your charges reduced or dismissed altogether. Where conviction is unavoidable, I strive to minimize the potential consequences you face:

  • Jail: In this state, a third offense in five years or a fourth offense in a lifetime is considered a felony. A felony DUI conviction carries up to two to five years in jail, with a mandatory minimum sentence. A jail sentence like this could cause you to lose your job, house, and car. These are outcomes you cannot afford to face.

  • Fines: Depending on your prior DUI offenses, you could face steep fines after a conviction.

  • Felony Conviction: A felony conviction results in a host of negative consequences, the loss of the right to vote or own a weapon of any kind. It will also affect your job and housing options.

  • Insurance: If convicted of drunk driving, you will lose your car insurance coverage. If this happens, you will be put into an assigned risk pool and your insurance costs will skyrocket.

Your Driver's License at Stake - Act Quickly to Protect It

All DWI/DUI convictions result in an automatic loss of your drivers' license. Even before this stage, however, your license is at risk. After your DWI/DUI arrest, you will be issued a 15-day temporary license. During that time, you can request a hearing to challenge the license suspension by the DMV. If you fail to do so, your driving privileges will be suspended automatically at the end of the period.

At all stages of the criminal and administrative process, I am committed to protecting your rights. As your defense attorney, I will represent you at the license suspension hearing before (DMV). I will take the time to understand your case, carefully assess all the evidence against you and identify and challenge every weakness in the State's case.
